To commemorate the production end of the iconic 240, Volvo introduced a special model, the ‘240 Classic’. Only
1600 were produced and #1549 is what you see here. Well optioned to start, the ‘Classic’ was available in a
choice of Ruby Red or Dark Teal Green exterior colors, featuring unique body-color grille and side mirrors, and
real blond wood dash trim. I love the hallmark clean, simplistic and sturdy design of the 240, it’s been an
absolute pleasure owning this car. I look forward to it finding a good home.
Overview
- Red with Charcoal cloth interior
- Complete paint job in original factory color (Ruby Red) by OEM-qualified vendor
- Rare all-season floor mats (including the especially rare cargo area mat)
- Rear-facing seat in the cargo area (not installed)
- 'Classic' specific blond wood dash trim
- Spare parts: MAF sensor, additional rare interior wood trim pieces, door sill covers, front door speaker grilles
and brand new front door map pockets.
Mechanical (have all services records from my ownership)
- New timing belt and water pump
- New head gasket

- Refinished OE 'Classic' cross spoke wheels (powder coated)

- Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid
- Recent oil change (approx. 1200 miles ago) – Castrol 10w40
- Recent alignment (approx. 500 miles ago)
What it needs:
- Rear main seal has started to leak a bit (half dollar size spot after sitting for 24 hours)
- Heater core leaking (By passed. Don't need the heater much in So. Cal.)
- Dash in good shape but does have a couple of small cracks
